Join Us! WISER Symposium on October 2nd

 

WISER will hold its annual symposium on October 2nd in Washington, DC. This year's theme, What Do Women Really Want? A Secure Retirement and Strategies to Achieve It, will explore how women, employers, financial services providers, lawmakers, public policy experts and community activists can work together to devise strategies and make retirement more secure for all women.

The event will take place from 12:30-5:30pm with a receiption following. Registration is now open. More details will be available soon. We hope to see you there!

 

Your Social Security Benefit Statement May Be Wrong

This summer, reporters with Forbes and USA Today discovered that Social Security had mailed out thousands of incorrect benefit statements to prospective recipients. A number of those who asked for information on their account via a paper form, known as SSA-7004, between 2017 and now, received benefit statements that were off by as much as hundreds of dollars.
